She was so genuine, welcoming, fun, and kind. During our stay, we were lucky to see and be greeted by Racquel daily. #ONYX HOTEL BOSTON UPGRADE#He made sure to have some goodies for us in the room, and gave us a nice upgrade that was very comfortable for both my dad and me. Then, the day before we left, I spoke with Vincent and shared with him that my dad will be turning 80 within the next 6-7 months. She was very kind, thorough, and gracious. First off, I called Kimpton Onyx a few times to inquire about restaurants, and I spoke with Racquel and a couple occasions. We did take the T to Fenway from the North Station and that was a very easy walk and trip. The neighborhood is charming, and we were close to everywhere he wanted to go between the North End, Faneuil Hall/Quincy market, as well as even Boston Commons & the Back Bay. We were so very excited, and the Kimpton Onyx did not disappoint. What is your favorite pet activity you’ve ever hosted at the Onyx Hotel?Ĭharley: Well, I’m pretty new here, but we are planning an event with our friends at Polkadog Bakery this fall.I took my 79-year-old dad to Boston so that he could see Fenway for the first time ever. Napa: Can you share any advice for other office dogs?Ĭharley: Sit back and relax, we have the best job in the world! To make people smile while they’re at stinky work! Napa: If you could tell your human co-workers anything, what would it be?Ĭharley: More belly rubs please! Just kidding … I love the Minute Man Trail, a historic trail that runs through our town and is a great place to run around. We recently moved up here from Philadelphia. Napa: Where are you from? What’s your favorite trait about the area you live in?Ĭharley: Currently, I live in the Boston suburbs with my family, the Breens. Napa: What’s your favorite funny dog video? Please share the link!Ĭharley: I can’t say I watch much YouTube these days, but I do love all of the doggy photos on our Instagram! Napa: What’s the best thing you’ve ever eaten around the office (even if you weren’t supposed to)?Ĭharley: We stock up on gourmet treats from Polkadog Bakery (an amazing local shop)! I snack on those whenever I’m allowed … or anything peanut butter. I also love to ask for a walk around the block to a park where we can watch over the Zakim Bridge to see all the cars zooming by! Napa: When you get bored around the office (in between important tasks), how do you keep busy?Ĭharley: There’s hardly ever a dull moment in hotel life, but when the opportunity strikes, I like to relax in the Ruby Room and watch the news. My favorite spot to sit is in the front window in the lobby! Napa: Whose desk do you sit under most often?Ĭharley: My Dad is the Director of Sales and Marketing for the three Kimpton hotels in Boston, so he moves around a lot. Sometimes I even visit friends at the offices in our other two Boston hotels, Nine Zero and Hotel Marlowe. Our office is a small operation, so it’s always lively always someone to chase around! I love to lounge out by the front desk and welcome guests as they check-in. Napa: What is a typical day like in the Onyx Hotel office?Ĭharley: We have a cozy space here at the Onyx. Our warm and caring staff loves to welcome pet guests of all shapes and sizes! But serendipity brought us together, and I couldn’t be more grateful.Ĭharley: Onyx is a Kimpton Hotel located in the West End of historic Boston! We have 112 newly renovated guest rooms, and are located just steps away from TD Garden, Faneuil Hall, and the North End. If you’d like me to be honest, I was most interested in meeting Charley, the director of Pet Relations at the Onyx Hotel Boston. Unfortunately, my parents booked a hotel on their own, and I didn’t get to stay at any of my top five choices. This summer, my parents and I took a trip to Boston.
